Before anything is scanned, we confirm the artist, the date, and the public-domain status of the piece, then note the details worth knowing — a print is more interesting once you know what you're looking at.
Source scans usually carry decades of yellowing, foxing, and faded varnish. We clean each file by hand, correcting only what time damaged — never the artist's original choices.
Every file is checked against known color references and printed test swatches, so the greens stay green and the blacks stay black instead of drifting warm under studio light.
A physical proof is printed and compared side-by-side with the reference file under daylight-balanced light before a piece is approved for the shop.
